What is the test about?

This blood test measures key hormones and markers to assess your reproductive health and detect imbalances that could drive PCOS symptoms. It includes the below:

• Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH): A hormone that indicates your the health of your ovarian function.‍
• Testosterone and DHEAS (Male Hormones): High levels can cause symptoms like irregular periods, acne, and excessive hair growth.
• Glucose (Random) & HbA1c: Assess sugar levels to check for insulin resistance, a common feature of PCOS.
• TSH & FT4 (Thyroid Hormones): Ensure your thyroid is functioning properly, as it plays a key role in metabolism and menstrual health.
• Prolactin: Regulates your reproductive system; high levels can disrupt periods and fertility.

What is the test about?‍

This test identifies common infections (yeast infection, bacterial vaginiosis, trichomonas, chlamydia and gonorrhea) that often mimic one another, co-exist, or recur. The test checks for the following:

• ‍Candida (Yeast Infection): Caused by an overgrowth of a natural fungus in the vagina. Symptoms often include thick, white discharge (cottage cheese-like) and/or intense itching, redness, or swelling.‍
• BV (Bacterial Vaginosis): An imbalance of vaginal bacteria leading to an overgrowth of harmful bacteria. Symptoms include thin, grayish discharge with a strong, fishy odor, especially after sex.‍
• Trichomonas: A sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite. You may experience frothy, greenish-yellow discharge, vaginal itching, irritation, and a strong odour.‍
• Chlamydia: A sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria. Often symptomless, but may cause abnormal discharge, pelvic pain, or bleeding after sex.‍
• Gonorrhea: A sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria. Symptoms include yellow or green discharge, pelvic pain, painful urination, or post-sex bleeding.
• Left untreated, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), infertility, or, in rare cases, life-threatening sepsis.

This check will be conducted with complete privacy. You'll need to undress from the waist down. Our female doctor will gently collect a small sample of cells from your cervix using a soft brush. The entire process will be quick and easy, taking just a few minutes.

What is the test about?

This screening checks for anaemia, a condition where your body doesn’t have enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen. This can make you feel tired, weak, dizzy, or short of breath. It can be common in women with heavy menstrual bleeding.

The screening also looks for thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder that is one of the most common inherited conditions among Asians. Carriers usually have no symptoms, but if both parents are carriers, there’s a chance of having a child with severe thalassemia. This can cause life-threatening anaemia and require lifelong blood transfusions.

Testing early helps with family planning and getting the right advice through genetic counselling.

It includes the following:  

• ‍‍Full Blood Count (FBC): Assesses red blood cells and hemoglobin levels to check for anaemia.
• ‍Hb Electrophoresis: Detects inherited blood disorders like thalassemia.
• ‍Ferritin, Iron, TIBC, Transferrin, and Iron Saturation: Identifies iron deficiency, often caused by heavy periods or dietary gaps.
• Vitamin B12 and Folate: Checks for vitamin deficiencies that can cause anaemia and affect energy levels.
